In September 2002, Spring Hill School entered into contract and partnership with most of the Washington West Elementary Schools.  All participating preschools must be nationally accredited or accredited by the Vermont STARS program, licensed by DCF, have at least one state certified teacher with an endorsement in early childhood education (Spring Hill has three) and provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is aligned with the Vermont Framework of Standards.  The goal of this initiative is to support parents in choosing the preschool program that best suits the needs of their child and family by contributing funding which will reduce tuition costs. Now in the seventh year of our contract, the State of Vermont, through the elementary schools, will give Spring Hill School 100% of the reimbursement for 10 hours of preschool education (which means 10 hours are free for families who qualify).  Participation depends on the town where a family resides, public preschool enrollment numbers and a possible cap established by local school boards. The Director will contact families that qualify for this program. If children attending Spring Hill School also attend another Preschool Partnership program then the tuition is adjusted accordingly.  Other participating preschools are:  all public preschool morning programs, Waterbury Children’s Space and The Learning Ladder. If your child is attending one of these programs this year, while enrolled at Spring Hill School, please let the Director know so your tuition bill may be appropriately adjusted.  We are pleased to be a partner preschool in this exciting initiative.
